Introduction
These Terms govern your access to and use of UpdateStar.com and the content and services made available through it (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
UpdateStar GmbH may revise these Terms by publishing an updated version on the site. The revised Terms take effect when published or on a later date stated in them. Where applicable law requires notice or consent for a material change, UpdateStar will provide it.
1. Copyright and Other Rights
Unless otherwise stated, the editorial content, graphics, photographs, design elements, and other materials published on UpdateStar.com are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The selection and arrangement of materials in the UpdateStar software catalog may also be protected by applicable database rights.
Except where permitted by law or expressly authorized in writing by UpdateStar GmbH, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit these materials. A link to a page on UpdateStar.com does not grant permission to reproduce its content.
UpdateStar and the UpdateStar logo are trademarks of UpdateStar GmbH. Other names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Their appearance on the site does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation.
2. Information on the Site
UpdateStar aims to provide useful and current software information, but does not guarantee that site content is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your needs. Software descriptions, version information, reviews, prices, availability, and other details may change. You are responsible for checking relevant information with the software publisher or other appropriate source before relying on it.
The Services may link to third-party websites or offer access to software provided by third parties. UpdateStar does not control those third parties or their content, products, policies, or availability. A link or listing is not an endorsement. Your use of third-party websites and software is subject to the terms and licenses set by their providers.
3. Rules for Using the Services
You may use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- access or attempt to access areas, systems, accounts, or data that are not made available to you;
- interfere with or disrupt the Services, their infrastructure, or another person’s use of them;
- bypass access controls, rate limits, technical restrictions, or other measures used to protect the Services;
- use the Services in a way that violates another person’s rights or applicable law.
4. No Automated Access or Crawling Without Consent
You may not access, crawl, scrape, extract, copy, monitor, index, or collect any part of the Services or their content by automated means without UpdateStar GmbH’s prior written consent.
This restriction applies whether the purpose is commercial or non-commercial, and includes the use of robots, spiders, crawlers, scrapers, scripts, bots, browser automation, AI agents, data-mining tools, or other automated systems. It also applies to collecting or using content to create or enrich a dataset, database, search index, or artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system.
You may not evade this restriction by rotating IP addresses or user agents, using another person or service to make requests, or circumventing technical measures. Access through an API, feed, or other automated interface is permitted only if UpdateStar has expressly made that interface available to you and you comply with its applicable terms.
To request written permission, contact support@updatestar.com and describe the pages or data you want to access, your method, purpose, and expected request volume. Permission is limited to the scope UpdateStar approves in writing.
5. Software and Downloads
Software available through or referenced by the Services may be provided by UpdateStar or by third parties. Unless a separate license says otherwise, software is provided under the license terms of its publisher. Review those terms before installing or using it.
UpdateStar does not guarantee that third-party software is available, compatible with your device, free of defects, or appropriate for a particular purpose. You are responsible for deciding whether software is suitable for you and for maintaining appropriate backups and security protections.
6. Disclaimers and Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Services and their content are provided without warranties that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, available, or suitable for a particular purpose.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or any mandatory statutory rights. For the remainder, UpdateStar GmbH is liable only as provided by applicable law.
